Kinetic Recursion Boots

Representing a paradigm shift in personal mobility, the Kinetic Recursion Boots from Recourse Dynamics allow their user to rapidly gain superhuman speed over short distances. These boots absorb kinetic energy from the user’s legs and feet and feed it back into repulsor diodes on the soles of the boots, accelerating the user. A feedback loop of acceleration can be established almost immediately as the boots absorb more and more kinetic energy while helping the user gain more and more speed. The boot’s repulsors also provide jump capabilities at speed far exceeding those of a normal human. Use of the boots without skeletal support would result in catastrophic bone fractures, thus the Kinetic Recursion Boots are part of a waist-down exoskeleton, which is also what absorbs the kinetic energy from the user’s legs. When not used for gaining speed, the boots will store energy in a small battery located in the small of the back, which can be used for enhanced activities such as kicking and jumping from a standstill, or to immediately jumpstart a sprint.
